It’s not just a new month. It’s the start of fall. Our favorite TV crime dramas are heading back to TV screens, and you won’t want to miss out. Just which ones do you need to watch in September 2021?

There are plenty of excellent TV crime dramas to check out throughout September if you look at broadcast, cable networks, and streaming services. We’re just looking at the broadcast networks. This means ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and The CW.

Most of the biggest networks are bringing back their tops shows in September. This can lead to a lot to watch and not a lot of time, so you want to make sure you check out the biggest releases.

We’re narrowing down the options to the five you won’t want to skip over, while also considering the nights they’re released. It wasn’t easy!

5 TV crime dramas to watch on the broadcast networks next month

The list is in release day order to avoid favoritism. We’re running the week from Mondays to Sundays.

NCIS

NCIS is moving nights and time. You’ll want to watch it on Mondays now, leading into the new series NCIS: Hawaii. Both shows are certainly worth the watch, but we’re picking the flagship series as our top pick.

There are some big changes. Mark Harmon is stepping back and won’t be in all episodes. In fact, he’s going to be in single digits according to sources. Bishop also left at the end of Season 18, so we’re seeing changes to the team. It’s worth watching to see how the series does without Gibbs in charge of the team in every episode.

FBI: Most Wanted

Tuesdays are becoming all about FBI. While Season 4 of the main series is still worth watching, the two spin-offs are on our list. We start with FBI: Most Wanted, which will air at 9/8c for its first week before moving back to the 10/9c timeslot.

The episode is the second of a three-hour crossover among the three shows. We should get answers about everything that happened at the end of Season 2, and we will also hopefully get to meet some of the International cast members.

FBI: International

Speaking of International, you’ll want to stay tuned in on Tuesday, Sept. 21 for this new series. It’ll move to the 9/8c timeslot the following week.

The new series is likely to follow the same format as the two other shows. However, this one takes viewers around the world with the Fly Team. We’ll get to see the FBI work with international organizations, including Interpol.

Chicago PD

Wednesdays are all about One Chicago on NBC. The episodes end with Chicago PD, and it’s the show on our list for TV crime dramas you need to watch.

The eighth season ended with Kim Burgess’s fate on the line. We’re sure she’s going to make it through, but it will then lead to a big decision about her role with the police while being a mom to Makayla. The show is worth watching just to see that storyline play out.

The Rookie

Finally, it’s all about our favorite TV crime dramedy. Nathan Fillion is back with The Rookie Season 4 at the end of September. There are a lot of questions based on the way the third season ended.

Lopez’s wedding didn’t quite go off without a hitch. She was kidnapped during the wedding, and now everyone is going to be out looking for her. Can they find her in time? Will the baby arrive at the worst time possible?

Next. The Blacklist Season 9 is not coming to NBC in September 2021. dark
