Hondo was left with a big decision to make on the SWAT Season 4 finale. Will he really go through with quitting on SWAT Season 5?

We all know that Hondo made the right choice on the SWAT Season 4 finale. He had to protect the people from the racist cops, and the only way to do that was to go public with everything that happened. And he knew the consequences of his actions.

However, what he thought would happen didn’t. He expected to lose his job. Instead, he just lost his command position. He can still be part of David Team, but he’s no longer the leader. After all, the force can’t be seen firing someone for speaking out about something bad within the organization.

Top brass wants Hondo to walk away because of his demotion. Will he give his bosses what they want on the SWAT Season 5 premiere?

Hondo probably won’t quit on the SWAT Season 5 premiere

I’m going out on a limb and saying that Hondo likely won’t quit. However, he’ll think about it for a while. He’ll wonder if he really wants to be a cop anymore when there’s so much bad going on within the force.

I’m not just saying this because Shemar Moore is the lead character on the series. I’m saying this because Hondo will do anything he can to keep people safe. That is what he joined the military and became a cop to do, and he can’t do that as a civilian.

It’s going to be his time in Mexico that reminds him of why he became a cop in the first place. He’ll end up involved in a case that he’s not supposed to be on, and that will likely involve him following a few orders here and there. He’ll remember what it’s like to be part of a team to save people, and he’ll realize that he’d rather do that than give it all up completely.

Plus, would Hondo really give the top brass the satisfaction of him quitting? He knows that’s what they want him to do. Surely it’s better to stick it out and prove that he will always put the citizens first.

He’ll still probably clash with whoever ends up in charge of the team (will it be Deacon?), but Hondo will likely remain part of the team on SWAT Season 5.

Next. Will SWAT Season 5 be the last?. dark
