East New York is not coming in August 2022
There are always new TV crime dramas on broadcast networks. CBS is bringing East New York in the fall. When can we expect the series to premiere?
There was some great news at the May Upfronts. CBS announced that it would bring another crime drama to its lineup. East New York is the series to watch out for.
The bad news is we don’t get to watch it just yet. This isn’t a series that will premiere in August, which isn’t too surprising. There’s no way broadcast networks would premiere the new fall shows in the summer months. This is the time of year when the live ratings take a dip. Why put a new show at risk of failure?
When will East New York premiere on CBS?
So, when are we looking at a release date? Some great news is that the series will head to CBS in October. Yes, CBS has decided on premiere dates, and East New York will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2. The episode will air at 9:30 p.m. ET, although the regular time slot is at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In the fall, Sunday shows are often preempted due to the football in the afternoon.
Episodes will follow new episodes of The Equalizer. From the week after, there will be new episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles following it.
We don’t have any new details about the series just yet. The trailer came out during the May Upfronts to give us a look at the pilot episode and the basic synopsis for the series.
This is a show that is focused on a newly promoted boss at the local police district. Regina Haywood is tasked with bringing change to the area, and she’s focused on making it possible for the local police and the residents to work together. That’s going to be much easier said than done.
East New York will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS. Watch the following day on Paramount+.
