Does East New York premiere tonight? (September 25, 2022)

“Pilot” – Amanda Warren stars as Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood, the newly promoted boss of the 74th Precinct in East New York – a working-class neighborhood on the edge of Brooklyn in the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification. With family ties to the area, Haywood is determined to deploy creative methods to protect her beloved community with the help of her officers and detectives. But first, she has the daunting task of getting them on board, as some are skeptical of her promotion, and others resist the changes she is desperate to make. Her team includes her mentor, shrewd veteran two-star Chief John Suarez; Marvin Sandeford, a highly respected training officer and expert on the neighborhood; Tommy Killian, a detective with some old-school approaches to policing; Capt. Stan Yenko, Haywood’s gregarious and efficient right hand; Crystal Morales, an intuitive detective who can’t be intimidated; Andre Bentley, a trainee from an upper middle-class background; and ambitious patrol officer Brandy Quinlan, the sole volunteer to live in a local housing project as part of Haywood’s plan to bridge the gap between police and community. Regina Haywood has a vision: she and the squad of the 74th Precinct will not only serve their community – they’ll also become part of it, on the series premiere of EAST NEW YORK, Sunday, Oct. 2 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*, before moving to its regular 9:00-10:00 PM time slot Oct. 9. Series also stars Jimmy Smits, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Kevin Rankin, Richard Kind, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Olivia Luccardi and Lavel Schley.Pictured (L-R): Amanda Warren as Regina Haywood and Richard Kind as Captain Stan Yenko. Our eyes are on when the new cop drama East New York premieres on CBS. Will that happen tonight? What’s going on with the fall TV schedule?

Fall TV is back, and that means we’re getting ready for all the new shows the networks will bring. East New York is one of the new shows on CBS, and we’re certainly ready for it.

There is some bad news, though. The new series does not premiere tonight. There isn’t too long to wait for it, but we do need to be a little more patient.

Why doesn’t East New York premiere on CBS tonight?

The new series will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2. That isn’t too far away, but it is disappointing that CBS hasn’t planned for a full week of premieres this week.

What is with the extra week delay? This is all linked to Big Brother. The finale for the recent season airs tonight, and it is a big event for reality show fans. That means we need to wait just one more week for our Sunday night dramas to make their return.

There is a new promo for East New York out. It gives us another look at Amanda Warren as Regina Hall. She is coming into the 74th District and she plans to make some changes. These will hopefully be for the better, as all she wants is to find a way to integrate the cops with the local people. Yet she knows that the local people are suspicious. Why should they trust the cops?

The best way to do that is to move the cops into the area to live there as well. Only one is taking on that right now, but how safe will she be when people find out what she does for a living?
