Big Sky season 3 has only just begun but the writers have already begun spinning quite the tangled web and we’re quickly learning there’s nothing sunny about Sunny Day Excursions.

As we saw in episode 2, Sunny is willing to do anything necessary to protect her family even if it means letting an innocent man die. When Sunny might have helped to cover up the death of Mark, for now, we can’t imagine she’ll be able to keep her son’s secret for too long with Cassie on the case and determined to find the missing backpacker.

However, a missing backpacker might prove to be the least of Sunny’s worries. After lovebirds Luke and Paige went missing on the trails, the Sunny Day campers joined the Barnes in embarking on a search for the pair which ended with Emily making a shocking discovery. Before Emily discovered a blood-soaked Luke, we last saw him in a heated argument with Paige that ended with her storming off and him picking up a larger rock with seemingly dark motives.

Elsewhere, Jenny was dragged into an unexpected case after Tonya called upon the police to help evict a squatter from one of her homes, a squatter who happens to be a whistleblower for a jet company who was planning on testifying about faulty plane parts but got cold feet.

Like we said, a tangled web has already begun to be woven and things are about to continue to get more complicated as the season continues this week!

Following last week’s shocking end, the mystery behind Paige’s disappearance is going to have Sunny Day guests and Sunny spiraling. Emily, in particular, is determined to get to the bottom of her disappearance while Sunny is simply determined to cover up loose ends — which could spell more trouble for her.

It doesn’t help that Cassie and Denise are set on tracking down the missing backpacker which paves the way for the pair to have an unexpected encounter on the side of the road. Meanwhile, Jenny will be keeping busy with a shocking new discovery of her own that is about to send her reeling.

"While investigating a scamming operation with Beau, Jenny discovers a connection to the crime that sends her reeling.
