Magnum PI preview: Magnum and Higgins go hunting for jewels
Magnum PI has another episode where, yet again, what should be an easy case instead turns into a wildly complex adventure.
The NBC revival of the classic Tom Selleck series reboot has been doing well with audiences and on a strong run of the 10-episode Season 5 order. The latest episode had Magnum and Higgins pulled into a case of an anonymous tipster pointing them toward a possible killer.
It was a complex affair involving an ex-cop who’d become obsessed with other women following his wife’s death. The pair worked with Childs, who impressed them by getting the guy to talk. While the suspect killed himself, they saved the woman he’d been holding hostage.
Meanwhile, Katsumoto was facing a hearing on whether or not he’d be reinstated to the HPD. Thankfully, Gordon was successful and back on the job, meaning he’ll once again be aiding Magnum and Higgins on cases.
The other subplot had Rick and TC figuring out Magnum and Higgins were a couple. They finally confronted him, with Magnum admitting it, so the entire group knows of their affair.
That should add a new dynamic to cases as the series has another new installment this week.

“Birthright” opens with a seemingly simple case as Magnum and Higgins investigate an elderly man robbed of a family heirloom. Yet the promo shows them getting involved in a wilder case as someone else wants those jewels.
The subplot sounds interesting of TC facing a past trauma, which can lead to more insight into his past. This should make for an interesting episode as Magnum P.I. thrives on its new network.
