When does East New York Season 1 finale air on CBS?
Viewers now know when East New York will enjoy its first season finale on CBS.
Debuting this past September, this new crime procedural focuses on the cops of the 74th Precinct in Brooklyn, New York. Led by new Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood (Amanda Warren), the cops handle a variety of crimes in the neighborhood, ranging from the detectives on murder cases to the patrol officers dealing with minor offenses.
The show balances the various dramatic turns of the characters with bits like Haywood ordering some cops to live in the neighborhood in order to understand it better. She also has to deal with the politics clashing with superiors, aided by Assistant Chief John Suarez (Jimmy Smits).
The series has succeeded thanks to airing after The Equalizer and before NCIS: Los Angeles and building up a good audience. That should help it as it prepares for its first season finale.
When does East New York’s Season 1 finale air on CBS?
As part of an announcement of various season finale dates, CBS confirmed East New York will end its first season on Sunday, May 14, right before the first part of the series finale for NCIS: Los Angeles.
So far, there is no word on whether there will be a second season. The show is a success in the ratings and with NCIS: Los Angeles ending, CBS might want to keep it on as another procedural drama hit. Yet fans should at least be aware of when East New York finishes its freshman run as they hope for more seasons to come.
While a few other shows are on the bubble for financial reasons. East New York is on the bubble as just the usual freshman show ratings reasons. We should find out in May just before the Upfronts if the show will be renewed.
