Law & Order: Organized Crime continues a storyline of the cops dealing with a complex case delving into the politics of Chinatown.

The series returned with the start of a new story arc as Thurman was at an event for Stephen Lee, an old friend running for city council. When someone shot Lee’s wife, the Task Force was called in, only to clash with the local cops.

It eventually turned out that Lee’s wife was the target, as she’d been going after a suspected human trafficking ring. While an arrest was made on a gang leader, the team suspected the real culprit was Michael Quan, Lee’s campaign manager. When Lee dropped out of the race to focus on his wife, Quan announced he was taking his spot.

Stabler confronted Quan on knowing he was behind all this and the team was going to prove it. That sets up this new episode in a dramatic way.

Check out a preview and synopsis for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3, Episode 17

“Blood Ties” has the team trying to find evidence of Quan’s guilt. They get a break when they meet a father whose search for his missing son leads to a human trafficking operation. The team will find going against a man as rich and respected as Quan is going to be tough and they will face blowback from their superiors.

With a problematic case delving into a tough part of New York, this should be a challenging episode for the Task Force and viewers to get through.

"“A father desperate to find his son helps Stabler uncover a sinister human trafficking operation. Bell’s investigation is undermined by a high-powered politician.”"
