Magnum PI spoilers: Are wedding bells in the future for one couple?
Magnum PI is back from a brief break with an episode that promises a big turn in the Magnum-Higgins relationship even as Higgins faces a major ordeal.
Since its move to NBC in February, the reboot of the 1980s Tom Selleck series has been doing well, with new episodes every week. It finally took a break on Sunday, April 9 as NBC prepared for its midseason finale.
The last episode had Magnum and Rick trying to figure out who killed their former captain. That brought them to work with an informer, but it ended with that guy being killed and the pair still not clear on who was after them or why.
The secondary case had Higgins and TC helping an eccentric billionaire figure out who was spying on him. It turned out the guy wasn’t the real target, it was his maid, who’d testified against a drug lord years before and he was coming back for revenge. Luckily, Higgins and TC were able to fight the gang off.
The final plotline had Kumu upset when she was robbed. Shammy helped her catch the thief, but when she learned the guy was only stealing to support his mom, Kumu dropped the charges and got the guy a legit job.
Following the brief break, this week’s penultimate episode before the midseason finale looks to be a dramatic one.
Check out a preview and synopsis for Magnum PI Season 5, Episode 9
“Out of Sight, Out of Mind” has an intriguing setup of Magnum offering Higgins a ring, making her wonder if he’s already set to propose. It’s likely it’s part of some plan which might involve the plot of them investigating a psychiatric hospital. Yet the promo shows Higgins might be driven mad herself in the course of the case.
The synopsis also indicates Gordon and his son are taking a college trip which runs into some complications that might need them being rescued.
With only one episode to go before the midseason finale, Magnum PI is ready to amp things up and provide more excitement for viewers.
"“Magnum and Higgins take on a case that sends Higgins inside a psychiatric hospital. Katsumoto and his son, Dennis, head to the mainland to look at colleges, but their trip takes a harrowing turn when a run-in with a local turns ugly.”"
