What happened to Rojas on Chicago PD?
During Chicago PD Season 7, a new officer joined the team. We met Vanessa Rojas, played by Lisseth Chavez. There was no mention of her when the show returned in Season 8. What happened to her?
Chicago PD Season 7 only ended up with 19 episodes. There was a plan to bring more, but the pandemic caused filming to shut down abruptly. This meant the show ended with the episodes that had finished production, and then storylines were picked up when the show was able to return.
Season 8 brought us the show with one character missing. After making a great impression, Rojas was suddenly just missing. What happened to the character?
Where is Rojas on Chicago PD?
Between filming Seasons 7 and 8, Chavez left the show. There was an initial plan to include her in the eighth season, but that didn’t happen. Then there was word that the character would receive a proper sendoff.
Well, that failed to happen. The eighth season rolled around and she wasn’t mentioned by anyone. It was almost like she didn’t exist in the first place.
Will we ever see her again? This is unlikely. It’s clear that Chavez has moved on to another show. She currently plays a new rookie on The Rookie and shares a lot of screen time with Nathan Fillion. The downside is that cop drama hasn’t been renewed for a sixth season yet. If it isn’t renewed then it opens the door for Rojas to come back to Intelligence.
To be honest, I think it’s unlikely we’ll see the character again unless it’s for a single episode. I would just love to know what happened to the character. Just a mention would have been great!
