Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for the Magnum PI Season 5 midseason finale

After wrapping up the first half of its new season on NBC, fans are naturally eager to know when Magnum PI returns. When does the second half of Season 5 hit the airwaves?

Magnum PI Season 5, Episode 10 started right where Episode 9 had ended as an attacker shot TC at his airfield. Luckily, Shammy was able to take down the attacker and get TC to the hospital. Magnum and Higgins were attacked at Robin’s Nest but fought the assailants off while Gordon had to break the news to them that Childs was killed in an explosion.

Rick was abducted as the gang figured out that the person behind all this was supposedly dead CIA agent Nadine Amherst. It turned out she’d fallen in love with Ahmed Hadid, the terrorist the team had killed years before and even born his son. When the boy died, Nadine snapped and was out for revenge on the team.

Thankfully, Magnum and the HPD were able to rescue Rick and take down Nadine and her men. Rick realized he wanted to be with his girlfriend Suzy and be a good father to their son. However, TC was paralyzed by the bullet wound and unsure if he would walk again.

That was an incredibly powerful finale, with fans wondering when the series will return for the follow-up.

When does Magnum PI Season 5 return?

When NBC picked up Magnum PI after CBS canceled it, it was supposedly for two 10-episode seasons. However, the network later said this would be one long Season 5, split into two, with this last episode billed as the “midseason finale.”

It sounds like filming is underway for the second half of Season 5 as producer Eric Guggenheim shared with TV Guide how there will be the return of several recurring characters like TC’s mom.

"“Instead of doing one big arc like we just did with the guys, we’re gonna be telling multiple stories over multiple episodes that are a little bit more character-driven. T.C. and Rick, for example, each have their own stories. Midway through Part 2, we’re actually going to introduce a new antagonist played by the incredible Patrick Fabian from Better Call Saul. I think that is the first time I’ve shared that! He’s absolutely terrific.”"

So far, NBC hasn’t announced when this new slate of episodes will air or if there will be an official Season 6. For now, fans can enjoy the first half of Season 5 as Magnum PI is ready to bring more excitement soon for viewers.
