Is a new episode of Magnum PI on tonight? (April 30, 2023)
As Magnum PI has just wrapped up its midseason finale, fans may be curious if there’s a new episode on Sunday, April 30, or if there will be a long delay before the show returns.
Caution: There are spoilers from the Magnum PI episode that aired on Sunday, April 23 in this post.
The Season 5 midseason finale on Sunday, April 23 was a wildly exciting episode as the team was targeted by the mysterious figure who killed their former commanding officer. That had Childs killed in an explosion, TC shot, Robin’s Nest attacked, and Rick running for his life through a jungle.
This whole thing was because Magnum’s SEAL team had killed terrorist Ahmed Hadid years ago. The person behind it all was supposedly dead CIA agent Nadine Amherst. She and Hadid had become involved with Nadine having his child. When the boy died a year earlier, Nadine snapped to seek revenge on the team.
Luckily, Magnum and the HPD were able to rescue Rick. However, there was the question if TC would ever walk again following his injury. That was an amazing way to top off the first half of Season 5, with fans curious when Magnum PI returns.
When does Magnum PI Season 5, Part 2 premiere?
So far, NBC has not announced any date for when the second half of Magnum PI Season 5 airs. This Sunday will be a rerun of Episode 3, “Number One With a Bullet.”
NBC may wait until the May upfronts to announce when the rest of Season 5 airs although it does sound like it’s already being filmed. NBC may want to hold off to premiere it in September, although it may no longer be on Sundays due to coverage of NFL games.
As of now, fans are going to have to deal with reruns of Magnum PI, although that’s better than it once more being canceled as it was at this time last year.
