Will Trent finished up its season in a thriller as Will and the GCB were racing to find a kidnapped Angie. They believed she was taken by the same serial killer who had plagued the city years before when Angela and Faith’s mom, Evelyn, were cops. However, their suspicions about the guilty party were ignored at the time, as the victims included a prostitute who was Will’s birth mother.
Will had a showdown with the killer, lawyer James Ulster, who had blamed Will for his mom dying in childbirth. Ulster had brutally attacked Angie, with Will arresting him despite Ulster trying to poison himself.
The season ended with Will checking on Angie at the hospital to find she may have been paralyzed. He also learned from Evelyn that Angela was the one who found an infant Will after his mom died and gave him his name before putting him in the foster system.
That was a great finale, but when does Will Trent return?

ABC decided to finish off their Tuesday series earlier this year as Will Trent ended on Tuesday, May 2, along with The Rookie (which has been renewed) and The Rookie: Feds (whose fate has yet to be determined).
At the moment, ABC is yet to release its schedule for 2023-2024, so it’s unsure when Will Trent Season 2 will premiere. An issue is the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike delaying the production of shows. If the strike extends into the summer, the series could be delayed further.
At least fans can be sure the series returns one way or another and be ready for more thrills when it does.
