Law & Order spoilers: What’s coming in Season 22 Episode 22
The Law & Order Season 22 finale is going to be a huge event. Not only is it the 400th episode for Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy, but also a very special guest star to mark the occasion. Check out all the Law & Order spoilers of the powerful finale!
The last Law & Order episode had a big focus on Frank Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) as he celebrated his 50th birthday and mulled an offer from a friend for a job at a private security firm in Florida. He and Shaw investigated the disappearance of an art gallery owner, which led them to find the body of her client.
They soon arrested a patron who appeared to have silenced the women when they stumbled on his plan to rob investors in his city firms. The prosecution charged the guy with both murders, only for the detectives to find one of the women was still alive. When they tried to help her, the accused killer shot Cosgrove.
Cosgrove recovered but was shaken by the experience, even considering quitting the NYPD. It wasn’t helped by the prosecution having a hard time with their case and the guy trying to cut a deal. Cosgrove took the stand himself to help the guy get convicted and decided to ultimately stay a cop.
That was an emotional episode that set up a landmark installment for the Season 22 finale.
Law & Order spoilers for Season 22 Episode 22
“Open Wounds” marks a huge achievement for Law & Order. It will be Sam Waterston’s 400th episode on the long-running series. His Jack McCoy has come from ADA to District Attorney and is still a stalwart face for the franchise.
The case involves the shooting of a senator, which naturally becomes a political nightmare for McCoy. However, a jarring bit is that the defense attorney is his own daughter, Rebecca, played by Waterston’s real-life daughter Elisabeth.
It seems there’s tension between the two on how Rebecca is defending the people her dad wants to put away. Price’s own issues are likely to cloud the case too.
This family drama is going to be a huge shadow on the case and end Season 22 of Law & Order in grand fashion.
"“When a senator is gunned down at his daughter’s wedding, McCoy pushes for a severe sentence and squares up against a formidable defense attorney — his own daughter. Price aims to stay neutral but can’t help but empathize with the defendant over a shared trauma.”"
