NCIS Season 21 will not premiere on CBS in June 2023
The good news is NCIS Season 21 is happening. The bad news is we have a wait on our hands. When will the premiere air on CBS?
We got the good news about the renewal of the flagship series well before the finale. That meant we could go into the Season 20 finale without worrying too much about a cliffhanger. It will be resolved.
Well, there was a cliffhanger, and what a cliffhanger it was. We were left with Torres sitting in a stranger’s apartment with his gun and phone on the table. It’s clear this stranger knows Torres, and then Torres picked up the gun and said he wanted to kill this man.
What? Torres is going to kill in cold blood? How will that play out? Well, we need the Season 21 premiere for that, and that’s where we get some bad news.
When will NCIS Season 21 premiere on CBS?
The premiere will not arrive in June. That isn’t going to be surprising for most. This is a fall show, and there’s no way CBS would premiere a fall show in the summer. That’s asking for a huge decline in the linear ratings.
We do know NCIS Season 21 will remain on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT in the fall. The question now is when the fall will be. As of right now, there are no set premiere dates, and we’re not going to get one for a while.
The writers strike continues at the time of writing this. Without scripts, production can’t start. That is going to have an effect on the premiere date. On top of that, there’s a chance the actors will strike in July, further impacting production. ABC opted for all scripted shows to be pushed to 2024, and we could see that ends up happening on all broadcast networks.
NCIS is available to stream on Paramount+.
