FBI Season 6 will not premiere on CBS in June 2023
In some good news, FBI Season 6 is happening. In some bad news, we won’t get to see the premiere just yet. When will new episodes return to CBS?
We knew FBI Season 6 was happening long before the fifth season even premiered. CBS granted all three shows in the franchise a two-season renewal last year. That’s how good the shows are performing on the network.
So, now eyes are on when we can expect to see the show return. FBI Season 5 didn’t end with a major cliffhanger. We got good news for Nina and Scola, and the team managed to catch the killer without a loss of anyone on the team. No lives are hanging in the balance, so we’re not as panicked throughout the summer as we are with other shows—yes, we’re looking at you FBI: International.
When will FBI Season 6 premiere on CBS?
We know that the new season won’t premiere this month. That’s not too surprising when you consider the summer months are when the live ratings take a dive. The broadcast networks don’t put on big shows this time of the year.
CBS has confirmed that FBI Season 6 will be in the fall schedule. It remains on Tuesdays with the rest of the franchise, and that would usually mean a September premiere date. We’d usually get a date sometime this month or next month.
Well, this is where more bad news comes in. As of right now, there’s a chance fall isn’t going to look normal. The writers strike continues and there’s a chance the actors will go on strike in July. This is all having a huge effect on production, with ABC planning for a full disruption by pushing all scripted shows to 2024. CBS may need to do the same, and that could mean a January 2024 premiere date for FBI Season 6.
FBI is available to stream on Paramount+.
