We are more than ready to jump back into the drama of the Walker family. When will Walker Season 4 premiere on The CW? Here’s what we know.

We finally got the good news last month about Walker. Just ahead of the Season 3 finale airing, we learned that The CW is renewing the show for a fourth season. It wasn’t great news for the prequel spin-off series Walker Independence, though.

Now for some bad news for the Walker family. The series will not return in June 2023. Of course, that won’t be that surprising to most people. This is not a summer show. It costs a lot to create, and The CW isn’t going to want to affect the live numbers by airing it in the summer when the linear ratings are down.

When will Walker Season 4 premiere on The CW?

So, we can expect it in the fall, right? There is more bad news. This series is moving to the midseason.

Now there are a few reasons for this. It is possible that the late renewal means that The CW sees a tight turnaround. Then there’s the fact that the live ratings aren’t the strongest when you look at other broadcast networks, so The CW as it stands with Nexstar in charge may be looking at pushing it to the fall to bring in better-performing shows.

It’s also most likely due to the writers strike. The CW has acquired a bunch of shows from international markets and saved AMC’s 61st Street. These shows are making up a lot of the fall schedule along with All American, which was renewed much earlier than Walker. The writers haven’t gotten back to work on Walker, but they could have been back to work on All American to allow for some scripts to film to be ready for the fall.

Walker Season 4’s episode count has also been reduced to 13 episodes. This is a cost-saving measure, which further suggest that Nexstar just isn’t confident that the series will perform well in the fall.

Walker is available to stream on Max.
