Streaming networks are where to turn for new TV shows this summer. Acorn TV will bring Cannes Confidential out, and here’s the release schedule.

If you’re in the mood for something quirky and light such as Agatha Raisin and Midsomer Murders, you’ll need to turn to Acorn TV at the end of the month. It’s all about Cannes Confidential.

The series follows a no-nonsense detective, Camille Delmasse, and an international conman, Harry King. They end up thrown together on the French Riviera to solve crimes and get to the bottom of various situations that unfold. Of course, the two have chemistry, but it’s made complicated thanks to a deal they make to help Camille’s colleague, Léa Robert, and Camille’s ex-Chief of Police father who is up against corruption charges.

Like many other Acorn TV originals, the series is getting a weekly release. There are two episodes coming out each week, and here’s a look at the release schedule.

Cannes Confidential release schedule

  • June 26: Episodes 1 and 2
  • July 3: Episodes 3 and 4
  • July 10: Episodes 5 and 6

There are only six episodes to the story. It won’t take you long to get through the series, but at least it’s something to get you through the summer break.

You will see the real City of Cannes in the backdrop. It’s the first English-language procedural since the 1970s to film on the Cote d’Azur. This is a huge moment in TV, and it’s sure to keep you in the summery mood.

Lucie Lucas, Jamie Bamber, and Tamara Marthe star in the six-part series. Will there be a second season? We’ll need to see how this first season performs.

For those outside of North America, some of you will need to watch on Viaplay. This is the case for those in the Nordic countries.
