We’re ready to jump back into the world of Magnum and Higgins. When will Magnum PI Season 5, Part 2 arrive on NBC? Will it happen in 2023?

When Magnum PI was initially saved by NBC, it was for two seasons that would be 10 episodes each. Well, things then changed. NBC decided to bill the two seasons as a two-parter one season. We’ve had the first 10 episodes of Magnum PI Season 5 so far, and now we’re waiting for the second 10 episodes.

They won’t arrive just yet. That’s not surprising with a show like this. NBC will want to give it a decent enough chance with the linear ratings, and that’s not what the summer months are for.

When will Magnum PI Season 5, Part 2 come to NBC?

At this point, we’re not expecting the second set of episodes to arrive in 2023 at all. NBC announced the fall schedule and Magnum and Higgins were nowhere on there. That’s not too surprising when you consider the live ratings for the first half of the season weren’t all that great—we’re certainly blaming the scheduling decisions there.

Things may change, though. The fall schedule is filled with scripted dramas that can’t film yet. Meanwhile, Magnum PI Season 5, Part 2 is ready. We could see NBC have to change some plans, bringing forward the 2024 dramas that are ready to the fall, even if they’re not performing the greatest in the live ratings.

Quantum Leap has some episodes ready. Magnum PI and Transplant are other shows with episodes ready to go. We could also end up seeing more unscripted shows as they can film in the summer, and maybe this would be a good time for some of the Peacock shows to get a linear viewing if the strike goes on much longer than we’d like to see—we do stand with the writers.
