What is Found about?

Found is one of the new shows coming to NBC in fall 2023. What is this crime drama about, and is it worth the watch? Here’s what we know.

Originally planned for the spring of 2023, Found was pushed to the fall schedule. It was a smart move by NBC, as May saw the start of the writers strike. Then in July, the actors followed, putting a lot of scripted shows on hold.

A lot of networks have had to push their new shows back by a few months, with most not returning until 2024. However, NBC is bringing a couple of new series to the fall schedule. It’s not clear just how many episodes we’ll get before filming had to stop, but at least we’re getting some.

Found is one of the crime dramas you’ll want to tune into in the fall. Here’s what we know about it so far.

What is Found on NBC about?

Found follows a team that looks for missing children. Yes, this is similar to Alert: Missing Persons Unit on FOX, where a team look for people who have seemingly just vanished. Some of them have Amber Alerts put out for them due to their ages.

In the NBC series, we follow Gabi Mosely, played by Shanola Hampton. While Alert opted to have the parents of a missing child work to find others, Found has Gabi as a former missing person who now specializes in PR. She leads a crisis management team who seek out missing people. Of course, Gabi has her own dark secret, and we’re sure to find out that that is throughout the course of the first season.

The series also sounds like it is heavily focused on missing people who are people of color. They are usually neglected by the system, with more than half of the missing people reports being those of color. That’s more than 300,000 per year!

Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi also star in the new series.

Found will premiere on NBC on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 10/9c on NBC.
