Reporting For Duty
For some laughs with the crime, this new Brazilian comedy looks to be a nice fit. Leandro Hassum is a small-town police chief who accidentally catches a career criminal. He’s thus assigned to Rio de Janeiro, a town packed with scores of crime.
The problem: The guy barely understands police work and is totally in over his head. Yet his endearing drive for the job wins over his colleagues, who range from dedicated detectives to one trying to look younger than he is to the chef who barely cares about her job. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine may find a lot to love on this show.
Reporting for Duty premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 6 on Netflix.
Burning Body
This Spanish series begins with the horrifying murder of a Barcelona policeman burned alive. As the cops investigate, they focus on two of his fellow officers who may have been hiding a lot of secrets. The series is based on a true story, emphasizing the dark tale amid the wild turns, and the Barcelona setting is an elegant one for what looks like a wicked Spanish crime show.

Taken in Montana
Lifetime has been busy with stories set on camping trips from Vanished in Yosemite to Kidnapping in the Grand Canyon.
