Blue Bloods Season 14: Will Donnie Wahlberg return as Danny Reagan?
We know that Blue Bloods Season 14 is happening, but what cost did that renewal come with? Is Donnie Wahlberg coming back to the series?
The renewal of Blue Bloods was on the line. There were a lot of negotiations over the budget, with CBS sharing that a quarter of the cast would need to be cut if the show was to go ahead. When the show was finally renewed, things changed.
Rather than see cast members leave, the cast and crew agreed to take a pay cut. Did that help to save everyone? Will Donnie Wahlberg be back as Danny Reagan in Blue Bloods Season 14, or are we losing him anyway?
Is Donnie Wahlberg in Blue Bloods Season 14?
There are no signs that Wahlberg is leaving the show. In fact, he was named as one of those agreeing to a pay cut to help bring the show back for another season. He wants to see fans get closure and an ending that they deserve for this show. After all, fans have been loyal for 13 years so far.
Wahlberg is one of the cast members in it for the long haul. He isn’t just going to up and leave to search for other projects. He wants to give the fans of the show what they want, and that’s more Danny.
He isn’t the only one to make that decision. Tom Selleck and Bridget Moynahan have also said that they are in it until the end, whether that’s the series finding a way to wrap things up or it’s CBS choosing to cancel the series. We hope that the show is final-seasoned so that there is closure. At least the writers have created endings that work as series finales should they be needed.
We don’t really know what to expect in Blue Bloods Season 14. Wahlberg has said that the Season 13 finale teased some things for Danny and Baez, so hopefully, the writers will delve deeper into that in Season 14.
Blue Bloods is available to stream on Paramount+.
