The Spencer Sisters just started off on the CW, but ready for more episodes! Here’s what’s coming in Episode 2 and how it continues to expand the new mystery show! Take a look at these The Spencer Sisters spoilers.

The first episode of the Canadian series introduced the main characters and setup. Darby Spencer (Stacey Farber) was an aspiring cop who realized her bosses were never going to respect her drive and let her become a detective. So she quit, only to come home and discover her boyfriend cheating on her.

Darby was thus forced to head back to her hometown of Alden Bluffs, where her mother, Victoria (Lea Thompson), was a rich and famous mystery novelist. Things had always been tense between the pair as Victoria wasn’t happy with Darby becoming a cop after her policeman father was killed in the line of duty.

It turned out Victoria had her own issues as her latest book was a flop and she was suffering from serious writer’s block. When one of Darby’s friends was falsely accused of plagiarism and expelled from the local college, the two Spencers worked together to help. They eventually uncovered an admissions scandal that brought a big college dean down.

The episode ended with Darby deciding to stay in town a bit longer. So what does Episode 2 have in store?

The Spencer Sisters spoilers: What’s coming in Episode 2?

The pilot introduced the setup so Episode 2 should move the plot more. “The Executive’s Elegy” will have the Spencers investigating the murder of a wealthy CEO’s fiancee. It’s likely to then play on Victoria’s idea of making the pair a detective agency.

It’s also likely to play on some subplots like Victoria handling her writing career ending and Darby seeing old high school flame Lucas now engaged to another woman.

"“When pharmaceutical CEO Marlina (guest star Nancy Sorel) comes home to find her fiancé drowned, Victoria (Lea Thompson) and Darby (Stacey Farber) investigate whether he was a victim of corporate espionage or Marlina’s own progeny.”"

With the full season already aired in Canada, U.S. viewers can enjoy watching more of the fun of this new mother-daughter crime-solving team on the CW.
