Are you ready for another season of Will Trent? Of course you are. We are too. The bad news is we won’t get Will Trent Season 2 just yet.
We are certainly definitely ready to see more of Will Trent. The series is based on the books by Karin Slaughter, and it follows the Georgia Bureau of Investigations agent, Will, who is hiding the fact that he has dyslexia. His dyslexia also helps him solve cases well, but he still can’t let anyone know.
The good news is the second season is happening. It took some time for the show to be renewed, but ABC did not disappoint in the end. The bad news is we’re not getting Will Trent Season 2 in November 2023. We’re not getting it this year at all.
When will Will Trent Season 2 premiere on ABC?
There isn’t an end date to this hiatus in sight. It isn’t that ABC didn’t like the way the series performed in the live ratings. This delay is partly linked to the strike action that started back in May 2023. ABC immediately opted for a strike-proof fall.
That being said, it is possible that Will Trent was going to be held for the midseason anyway. The show started as a midseason show and it didn’t quite have the impact needed for it to move to the fall.
So, now eyes are on when Will Trent Season 2 could premiere on ABC. The WGA strike has ended so writing can start, but the SAG-AFTRA strike hasn’t ended at the time of writing this. That means production can’t start. We’re probably looking at March 2024 at the earliest right now, but this show could be pushed for the summer or even next fall.
Will Trent is available to stream on Hulu.
