When will The Rookie Season 6 premiere on ABC?
At long last, fans of The Rookie know when Season 6 of the popular crime drama debuts on ABC. Find out more about The Rookie Season 6, and its new premiere date.
Premiering in 2018, The Rookie has become one of ABC’s most popular crime dramas, focusing on a pack of cops handling life on the streets of Los Angeles. Nathan Fillion stars as John Nolan, who enters the LAPD as a 40-year-old rookie but is now an established officer.
Season 5 ended with the cops handling a variety of major crimes, unaware it was all a distraction by a criminal mastermind who was planning an even bigger operation. That was a good cliffhanger, only for the show to be hit by the WGA and SAG strikes, putting off the fall 2023 TV season.
With those strikes now settled, ABC is pushing ahead with production on The Rookie, which is set to begin in late November. Now, ABC has confirmed when the series can return.
What is The Rookie Season 6 premiere date?
ABC announced its revised 2023-24 calendar, which is really just early 2024. The Rookie will enter Season 6 no longer a lead-in to the now-canceled The Rookie: Feds spin-off. ABC announced its lineup, and The Rookie Season 6 will premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
There is a change in the times as the show will now be the middle part of the Tuesday lineup that will begin with Will Trent at 8/7c, followed by The Rookie at 9/8c, with The Good Doctor ending the night at 10/9c.
There’s no word on the episode count, but it’s likely to be 10-13 episodes. The February date is good as it comes in the typical sweeps period and capitalizes on the wave of premieres happening at the same time.
So it’s only a couple more months before The Rookie is back on the air and Season 6 continues the great fun for the show!
The Rookie Season 6 premieres on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9/8c on ABC.
