Reacher is about to start its second season, but fans are more excited about a possible Season 3. Amazon has some great news about the return of the show.

Based on the long-running novels by Lee Child, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson in the title role of Jack Reacher, a former special forces soldier who now wanders the country. Somehow, Reacher always finds himself in the middle of some sort of trouble, using both his immense strength and sharp investigative mind to figure out the truth.

Season 1 had the titular character making a stop in a small town and being arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. He managed to prove his innocence and expose a criminal conspiracy to boot. The upcoming Season 2 has him trying to find out who’s hunting former members of his special forces team.

That’s a good setup for this new year, but can fans count on more Reacher to come?

Is Reacher getting a third season on Prime Video?

As if fans weren’t already excited about Season 2, Prime Video confirmed that there will be a third season. The announcement was made during the Prime Video panel at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, in early December, with Alan Ritchson confirming the news via a special video.

Not only is Ritchson starring, but, per Variety, he will also be an executive producer for Season 3, joining Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, and Adam Higgs, with Child himself also listed as a producer.

Obviously, there’s no word yet on what Season 3 will involve, as it’s likely to adapt another of the novels. With 26 in total, that’s a lot of potential for storylines and even the possibility of combining plots from different books into a fresher storyline.

For now, fans can be happy to know that when Season 2 wraps up, a third season is coming to continue this amazing crime show.
