Harlan Coben adaptations on Netflix are always highly anticipated. Fool Me Once is the latest adaptation heading to the streamer.

We are still salty that the Harlan Coben YA series Shelter was canceled, but we can turn to Netflix for the more adult psychological thrillers when they’re adapted. From The Stranger to The Woods, there have been some exciting and well done adaptations.

Now it’s time for another one. Fool Me Once is heading to Netflix in the new year. The streamer has released the trailer and a release date for the series. Here’s everything we know so far.

When will Fool Me Once come to Netflix?

The limited series will drop as a binge-watch on Monday, Jan. 1. Yes, this is a New Year’s Day release, and it’s going to be something you’ll want to check out right away.

How many episodes are in Fool Me Once?

Like many other adaptations, there are eight episodes to the series. This is a limited series, so expect the entire story to be told throughout the eight episodes. There won’t likely be a second season, following the likes of Stay Close and The Stranger.

Who stars in the new Netflix series?

Richard Armitage is back. He’ll play Joe, a former soldier who is brutally murdered in front of his wife. Michelle Keegan plays his wife, Maya.

The series will also star Adeel Akhtar and Joanna Lumley in prominent roles.

What is Fool Me Once about?

The series initially looks like one that is about grief and loss. Maya watches as her husband is murdered. Of course, the hunt is on for who killed him while Maya sets up a nanny cam in her daughter’s bedroom to keep an eye on her while she’s out. That’s when she realizes that there may be more to the story.

One day, she sees Joe on the camera. How is it possible that her murdered husband is in their daughter’s room? Maya starts to see Joe everywhere, but is she going crazy or is there something else going on? It’s clear that Joe’s mother is hiding something, and she doesn’t want to admit that Joe was likely in the bedroom.

Maya decides that she is going to get answers. She needs to know what happened to her husband and why.
