911 and 911: Nashville will return much earlier than expected (and this could be a bad thing)

911 and 911: Nashville are returning earlier in 2026 than expected. Will this possibly be a bad thing based on how many episodes are in the seasons?

911 and 911: Nashville are both going on midseason hiatus after their new episodes air on Thursday, Nov. 13. While this is earlier than expected, luckily, fans won’t have to wait too long for the rest of the season to be available on ABC. However, could the earlier start have some setbacks?

Usually when 911 has had a midseason finale, the second part of the season has returned closer to March. That has allowed for minimal breaks between episodes. This time around, the shows will have new episodes beginning on Jan. 8, 2026. There are going to be 18 episodes of 911, so this means we will have 13 episodes left to watch in the later half of the season. 911: Nashville is also in the same boat, with 18 episodes set to air and also going off the same

This means that depending on how many breaks the show has, we may have some weeks where both programs do not air so they can stay on track to finish the seasons in May. Since the Winter Olympics are set to air from Feb. 6 to 22, 2025, on NBC, there may be a couple of weeks when new episodes won’t be available, as they don’t compete with the Winter Games.

Even if the only break comes for that part of the year, we are still looking at a possible April finish date for the shows upon their returns if they do not have multiple breaks in between. schedule as 911. While we don’t know the schedules yet or how they will impact the airing of new episodes, we’re hoping that ABC will continue to

What does an earlier return date mean for 911 and 911: Nashville?

However, the shows both have a solid fanbase, with 911: Nashville slowly gaining its footing being new. 911 has had a pretty steady start, with an opening emergency that saw Sergeant Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) and Firefighter/Paramedic Hen Wilson (Aisha Hinds) up in space that did last for four episodes. The opening episodes were actually pretty balanced to start the year, so hopefully that trend will continue to allow the rest of the season to flow in a steady direction.

911: Nashville introduced us to the 113 Fire crew, headed by Chris O’Donnell’s Captain Don Hart. While the show has focused more on family drama centered around the captain’s personal life, there have been some positive reactions from fans who tuned in for the first time.

We will make sure to keep you updated on the 2026 schedule for the shows so we know for sure whether or not the earlier start date for the latter half of the season will affect the airing of new episodes.

Make sure to tune in to the fall finale episodes of 911 and 911: Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 8/7c for the former and 9/8c for the latter. While the shows are off air for the fall season, you can catch up on the episodes on Hulu.
