It feels like 911 and 911: Nashville just started airing; however, fans will be surprised to learn their fall finales are coming quicker than expected. When do their breaks begin, and why are they finishing so early?

TVLine reported that ABC released the finale dates for their fall schedule, and both 911 shows will end their fall airings much earlier than we'd like or are even used to.

When will 911 and 911: Nashville air their fall finales in 2025?

The two shows will air their fall finales on Thursday, Nov. 13. Since both shows aired at the beginning of October, this means we will only get at least six episodes before the break begins.

Luckily we won’t have to wait too long for the shows to return, with their winter premieres set for January 8, 2026. So what does the early break mean for 911 and 911: Nashville?

For the original show, this means that the show will only have a couple of episodes to show what the team is up to after the big opening premiere that led to Athena and Hen being trapped in space, while the team handles the aftermath of a geomagnetic storm.

911: Nashville season 1
911: Nashville - “Forces of Nature” - Amidst multiple crises, Ryan steps up to lead Station 113. The team responds to a dangerous call of a child trapped in a trailer hanging off a historic Nashville bridge. Meanwhile, Blythe pays a long-overdue visit to Dixie. THURSDAY, OCT. 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC. (Disney/Jake Giles Netter) HAILEY KILGORE, MICHAEL PROVOST, JUANI FELIZ, LINDS EDWARDS, HUNTER MCVEY, BODIE LABBE

What do the early fall finales mean for the 911 shows?

From what we know so far, the fourth episode, set to air on Thursday, Oct. 30, will follow the efforts to get Hen and Athena back home. Next, there will be a Dia de Los Muertos episode, which will focus on Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman) and what will likely be his need to deal with grief he is experiencing.

Eddie does not handle grief well and he has been holding a lot in, especially when it comes to his deceased wife, Shannon, and now the loss of his Captain, Bobby Nash. We hope this episode that focuses on him will allow him to move forward in a more healthy capacity.

Not much is known about the sixth episode, which will be the fall finale. We’re looking forward to seeing what happens, but it does feel like the first half of the season is ending quicker than normal.

As for 911: Nashville, the show may not have had a huge multiple-episode emergency arc, but we are still getting to know the characters and who they all are. There is plenty of story to tell as we get further along, but hopefully their fall finale will make an impact since the ratings are not as big as 911’s but they still get plenty of views.

The most likely reason for the early break is so the network can get as many episodes aired in early January before the Winter Olympics begin in February 2026. This makes sense in a way, especially since it would have meant a shorter season had they not had time to produce as many episodes as they would like.

Even though the shows are finishing up faster than expected, we’re excited to learn more about what both sets of teams are dealing with in the meantime. The next episodes of both 911 and 911: Nashville are slated to air on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 8/7c and 9/8c respectively.

Previous episodes of the franchise are available on Hulu.
