We’re used to Halloween episodes of 911, but this season, things are a little different. Instead, we’re getting a Día de los Muertos episode.

Day of the Dead is a huge part of Mexican culture, and it makes sense to highlight this part of Eddie’s life. 911 season 9 episode 5 is a fitting time to do it, as he continues to struggle with death and loss. At the same time, we’ll continue to get some fun moments with Buck and his belief in the supernatural.

What time is 911 season 9 episode 5 on ABC?

The new episode will air on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT. The show continues to be a great start to Thursdays on ABC, so why would the network even consider changing that?

There are some changes to how to watch the episode at the time of writing this, although we hope the negotiations are solved soon. Right now, ABC isn’t available on YouTube TV due to the carriage deals falling through. However, you can opt for Fubo TV or good old-fashioned cable.

What if you can’t watch the episode live? The great thing about 911 is that it goes to Hulu the very next day. You’ll be able to tune into 911 season 9 episode 5 on Friday, Nov. 7 at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT.

What to expect in 911 season 9 episode 5

The new episode is titled “Día de los Muertos,” which means Day of the Dead. There’s clearly a supernatural element to the story, as one of the calls involves the 118 attending a woman who is believed to be possessed by a demon. Of course, Eddie doesn’t believe this, and he’s sure there’s a natural explanation for the symptoms of the woman.

The 118’s beliefs are put to the test as they respond to emergency calls involving a Jack-o’-lantern and a few more jump scares than they were expecting on Halloween.

And there probably is. After all, 911 isn’t rooted in the supernatural, but there are times when there are a few uncanny moments. Eddie is going to get a supernatural episode, as he starts to see things that he can’t explain, and we’re sure to see something involving Shannon, his late ex-wife, who he continues to struggle getting over.

Buck will also get a part in the episode, which adds some humor to the episode. He hears noises in his new house, and he’s sure it’s something like squirrels. What will he find when he actually gets into the crawlspaces of his place? Is that a dead body?

There's also humor in a call that Maddie is going to get, which involves a roll-away pumpkin. Well, while Maddie doesn't think it's an emergency for 911 at first, it sure turns into one!

911 airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
