Over the course of eight episodes, we watched how Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito’s lives were turned upside down in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. At the end of the show, they were still in contact with each other, but is that true in reality?
The two do share a bond that can never be broken. They were both accused of a crime they continue to say they didn’t commit. Both were psychologically tortured to share that they weren’t together the night of the murder, then that they were together, and that they were at Amanda’s house. With so many back-and-forths, it’s not surprising that they ended up saying things that they shouldn’t.
In the end, the two tied their defenses together. This led to them both being convicted, then acquitted, then convicted, and then finally acquitted again of the murder of Meredith Kercher. What a rollercoaster of a ride!

Amanda and Raffaele do still talk
In Amanda Knox’s memoir Free: My Search for Meaning, she does cover the aftermath of her life with Raffaele. The two did still talk often, but that gradually phased out. While they would send the odd message on WhatsApp, they weren’t friends in the way that they were back when the ordeal took place.
That being said, the two seem to have never stopped thinking about each other, and it’s easy to see why that would be the case. The ordeal they went through bonded them in a way that they wouldn’t be able to bond with anyone else.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox premiere saw the two see each other again
Amanda has shared that Raffaele looked for a life outside of Italy. He’s tried to move on from the court case, finding a way to settle down. Meanwhile, Amanda has her husband Chris and daughter Eureka to focus on, so the two of them don’t stay in touch as they would potentially like.
Yet, the two did come face-to-face with each other at the premiere for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. According to Us Weekly, Amanda shared that there was nostalgia for what could have been when she saw him. She couldn’t help but look back at the circumstances that led to all this, and she shares that a part of him was likely thinking the same.
She shared that there was a longing in his eyes, likely thinking of a world where Meredith wasn’t killed and they weren’t arrested. Maybe they had a chance to see where their relationship took them, because that’s something Amanda thinks of from time to time.
But no, the two aren’t close friends anymore after the events we saw play out in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. That doesn’t mean they don’t talk.
