After 14 years, Blue Bloods has come to an end. No, we weren’t ready for it, but it’s happened. The show had time to wrap up the storylines, but did the writers wrap up everything?

There were a lot of questions going into the final episode. We knew that someone was going to die, and we had an idea as to who it would be. So, what went down, and what were Frank’s last words at the family dinner table?

Frank shares how proud he is in Blue Bloods series finale

Don’t worry; Frank Reagan didn’t die in the series finale. There was no way we would stand for that, right! However, he did have a final dinner scene with his family. As he looked around, he shared how proud he was of everyone at the table.

He also noted that there’s a lot to be thankful for. He’s grateful for everyone around him at the table.

It was a touching moment, as there’s something to be said for the series as a whole. You can almost feel like Tom Selleck is saying he’s proud of the show and grateful for the fans.

Who died in the Blue Bloods series finale?

The series finale put lives on the line. The Mayor was shot, but he wasn’t killed. As many suspected, it was Eddie’s partner, Officer Badillo, who was killed in the line of duty. It was his funeral that we saw photos of.

We knew that a death had to happen. Police work is dangerous, and the show has given us a look at that over the course of 14 years. Of course, the series couldn’t go out without a memorable loss, but I don’t think anyone would have accepted any of the Reagan family. Sadly, it had to be Badillo.

The series did end with a happy note for Eddie and Jamie, though. The two are expecting their first child! Of course, everyone was overjoyed.

Then came a surprise we didn’t fully expect. Erin shared that she and her ex-husband are getting back together. There were signs, but this did feel a little off. I think what really felt off was that they didn’t seem to share this news with their daughter first. Sami Gayle’s Nikki wasn’t back for the Blue Bloods series finale, with the character currently on the West Coast.

Are Danny and Baez getting together in Blue Bloods?

There was a questionable moment at the very end of the series. After years of working together, Danny and Baez shared a moment that seemed to suggest that they were getting together. They walked arm-in-arm to get pizza.

Of course, this could just be a sign of a good friendship. Great platonic friendships can have these moments, and the two clearly have that with working together so closely. They both had a dangerous case to help solve, and they had some great heart-to-hearts over the seasons. We know that the proposed Blue Bloods spin-off won’t be about Danny, so it’s unlikely that we’ll ever get answers to this question.

Blue Bloods is available to stream on Paramount+.
