Boston Blue teaser makes it clear the Blue Bloods spin-off is in the fall schedule

All eyes are on the Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue, and now we know it's coming this fall on CBS.

We are more than ready for the Blue Bloods universe to continue, and it’s happening with Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as Danny Reagen in Boston Blue. CBS has released a teaser, and while it doesn’t tell us much about the storylines to come, it does tell us where in the 2025–2026 TV schedule it will happen.

Boston Blue is an official Blue Bloods spin-off, with Wahlberg reprising the role of Danny. However, it doesn’t look like he is still with his onscreen partner Baez, as Danny is off to Boston and is working with a new team. That is sure to be something fans want an update on, as the last we saw on Blue Bloods, it looked like the two were starting something romantic.

Boston Blue is coming ‘this fall’ on CBS

The teaser for Boston Blue just shows us that Wahlberg is in the lead when it comes to storylines for the series. It’s more the statement of when the series will arrive that is intriguing.

It’s coming “this fall” on CBS, which means CBS is setting up its fall 2025 schedule right now. Boston Blue isn’t the only new series with that statement in the teaser. The Fire Country spin-off Sheriff Country will also arrive in the fall.

It does make sense to put the two shows on in the fall. CBS needs some new shows, and why not put the two set in a universe fans have already come to know and love in there?

When could Boston Blue air in the schedule?

It makes the most sense to put Boston Blue on in the former Blue Bloods timeslot. While SWAT currently has that timeslot, it feels more like a Danny Reagen timeslot, right? SWAT is ending after this season, so there isn’t the competition for the timeslot.

That would suggest that it will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Fridays. However, I did say that Sheriff Country would work well following Fire Country, and that would mean that would take that last timeslot. CBS could pull Fire Country to an hour earlier, putting Sheriff Country on next and then Boston Blue.

We’ll know more when the CBS schedule is announced at the May Upfronts. Those dates are still to be set, but once we know when the CBS Upfronts is, you can be sure we’ll keep an eye on the details of the fall schedule. At least we know Boston Blue is on it.
