After 10 episodes, we got the answer to who killed Em that fateful night in Revival. However, the ending of the first season certainly brought up more questions than answers.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Revival season 1, episode 10.

The Revival season 1 finale certainly wrapped the show’s biggest mystery for the Cypress family. Em learned who killed her. On top of that, she learned why. However, Dana and the rest of the family will likely continue with questions about Revival Day.

On top of that, everyone has questions to new mysteries. Not everything was wrapped up in a neat bow, making it clear that there are hopes for Revival season 2. As we wait for Syfy to decide what to do about the show, we look at the biggest questions we have after Revival season 1.

Revival - Season 1

Why is Em so special in Revival?

As Lester told Em about the night of Revival Day, he shared that he tried it with Rose two years earlier. However, there was something about Rose that wasn’t special enough. Em had whatever Lester needed, and that’s why Revival Day happened. In fact, Em was extra special to bring the dead back to life.

So, what was it about Em that was so special? Why was she able to bring the dead back? In the comics, it’s explained that Em is pregnant, and that’s what leads to Revival Day, so will the series continue that?

Why was Em’s soul purple?

Another thing that made Em stand out was her soul. It’s purple, while all the others were yellow. This is another sign that Em is special, but why? What is it about her soul that stands out?

We will need this explaining eventually. It’s important to delve into everything that made Revival Day happen so that we can understand. The problem is that Lester and Aaron are both dead. We better hope that Nithiya will be able to answer some questions.

How involved in Revival Day was Nithiya?

Speaking of Nithiya, Mai called Dana with some surprising news. Nithiya was never given Em as a client. That’s something Aaron’s wife wanted, and it was clear that she wanted something from Em. Now, it could be that she just wanted to face the woman her husband was having an affair with, but it could also be something more.

Nithiya has Em now. So, how involved was Nithiya with Revival Day, or did she only come to learn Aaron’s words were true when the dead came back to life?

Why does Coop blame Wayne for Em’s disappearance in Revival?

Cooper is no longer speaking with his grandfather, believing him to be the reason for Em’s disappearance. Why is that, though? What was said to Cooper in the days after Em’s sudden disappearance? Why did his mom allow him to believe that?

Sure, Dana had her anger toward her dad, but she never stopped him from seeing Cooper. In fact, she often relied on him, and Cooper enjoyed hanging out with him. So, something had to have happened for Cooper to suddenly start blaming Wayne.

Revival - Season 1

Will Dana and Ramin make something of their relationship?

It’s clear that Dana and Ramin like each other. In the comics, it all ends with the two of them going on a date together. That wasn’t the case for Revival season 1, as it ends with the two clearly friendly but not together.

Will that change? The fact that these two have such respect and trust in each other, tells me that they can make it work. After all, Ramin was willing to protect Em without even knowing her, just because Dana asked of it. They should take it slow, though, and Cooper needs Dana right now, so while I want to see them together, they are making the right decision.

What’s going to happen to the Revivers in Revival season 2?

Suddenly, the opinion of the Revivers has changed. Throughout the first season, the Revivers were segregated. This allowed them to be tested on, but it also created friction in the town. The end of Revival season 1 took us just over a month later, and suddenly, everything had changed. The segregation was coming to an end.

Is that really how the town feels, though? Sure, the mayor can say what he wants, but it doesn’t change the way people feel about those who have come back from the dead. It’s easy to manipulate people to hate, but it’s not easy to manipulate or convince people to go the other way. Revival season 2 needs to show the struggle of this.

Where are the escaped Revivers?

When the Revivers got out of the prison, they were able to take tunnels out of Wausau. Many of them are out in the wind, and it’s not like the rest of the country has the segregation laws in place. So, what does this mean for them moving forward?

Where are they? Will we see the story happen in other parts of the States in Revival season 2? Will something pull them back to Wausau? Can they even survive away from the water? The show needs to put some focus onto them in the second season.

Revival is now available to stream on Peacock.
