It's bad news for those wanting more Chicago PD tonight (November 27)

We would love to jump straight into a new episode of Chicago PD tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 27. There is some bad news about tonight and the rest of 2024.

There isn’t a new episode of Chicago PD tonight. Nor is there a rerun. The night before Thanksgiving sees NBC opt for some holiday-themed content. We start with the countdown to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and then we have a special for Saturday Night Live to mark the holiday season.

We’re used to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving being a night off from the normal schedule. However, in recent years, there’s been an episode of Chicago PD airing to close out the regular season for the year. That’s not the case this year. NBC has gone back to the older tradition of airing the fall finale the week before Thanksgiving.

When is Chicago PD back with new episodes?

The previous episode, which saw Torres deal with the fallout of his relationship with Gloria, ended with a cliffhanger. Reid wants to be “friend” with Voight, which suggests that he wants Voight to do something questionable. Now we want to know what that could lead to.

The bad news is we don’t have any episodes left in 2024. Chicago PD will return with new episodes on Wednesday, Jan. 8. It will air at the usual time of 10 p.m. ET/PT after new episodes of the other One Chicago shows.

What to expect when Chicago PD returns?

We have a promo for Chicago PD season 12, episode 9. It focuses on the case for Intelligence to deal with. Two girls have been kidnapped, and there is a random out for them. If the parents don’t pay the ransom in time, these girls are going to be killed. Voight will stop at nothing to save them. He’s not letting something happen to more kids on his watch.

There aren’t any clues about what Reid wants in the promo. It’s possible that that won’t come up for a few more episodes. After all, this has to be more of a season-long arc, which means teasing elements here and there and not revealing it all in one go.
