It was not an easy start for Intelligence in the Chicago PD season 13 premiere, but Voight found a way to get almost everyone back. Kiana Cook has taken a new position, but there’s a new team member joining “for a while.” Now it’s time to get into the details of Chicago PD season 13, episode 2 to see how everyone works together.
We don’t get to see how people take to Eva Imani from the promo or synopsis. Instead, the focus is on the case of the week, which is going to be personal for Torres.

Torres knows who was taken in Chicago PD season 13, episode 2
The promo makes it clear that this episode is going to be a personal one for the newly reinstated Officer Dante Torres. He knows the victim, and he knows the victim’s mom. That means he’s going to do everything he can to get the guy back.
It’s an abduction case rather than a murder investigation. For now, at least. Will it remain that way? I guess it depends on who has taken the man and why. That’s one thing that the promo doesn’t give away.
With it being Chicago, it could be another drug case or a gang/cartel-related case. Those are the usual two, especially when Torres is involved. If it was a woman, then I would have said a sex trafficking incident, but while it can happen to a man, it’s not usual at all!
The synopsis doesn’t give us anything else to work with. All we know is that Torres will know the victim.
Take a look at the Chicago PD season 13, episode 2 promo & synopsis:
The Intelligence Unit races against time when a man from Torres' own neighborhood is violently abducted.
Getting to know Eva Imani
Throughout the Chicago PD season 13 premiere, we got to know Eva Imani. She was working with the ATF in the first episode, but the ATF let her go. This is a woman who is a bit of a lone wolf, unable to follow orders when she can see that the orders don’t make sense. And we can see why she and Voight will likely get along—but also why they’ll probably but heads at some point.
However, this second episode will see her getting to know the team. Who will she end up connecting the most with? Will it be Torres, working closely with him to find the victim, or will it be Atwater? After all, Burgess and Ruzek are all loved up still, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see her interact with them all that often. It’s just the way this show works.
It would be good to see Atwater interact more with the other members of the team. He used to interact with Burgess a lot, but that has changed over the seasons. Now he just seems to be left out in the cold, so it’s time for Chicago PD to change that.
Chicago PD airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
