Every now and then, we get an episode that connects to the past. Sometimes, it’s the past that we’ve already seen, but other times, it’s the past for one of the characters. It looks like Chicago PD season 13 episode 7 could be the latter for Voight.
It’s hard to tell right now. The promo gives us a look at the likely suspect, but Voight doesn’t seem to know the man. Nobody else is hinting that they know him, but the synopsis tells us something a little different. What they are likely dealing with is a psychopath or a sociopath, though, and maybe they want to call in Criminal Minds’ BAU.
Just a note that this episode is the fall finale. After this, we’ll be in a lengthy break for the show to return in 2026.

A connection to the past in Chicago PD season 13 episode 7
The synopsis tells us that Intelligence is going to deal with a “chilling figure from a previous case.” I’ve got ot admit that I don’t really recognize the guy in the promo for the episode. While he certainly has a chilling feeling to him, he’s not someone who jumps out at me. And I can’t tell if it’s just because I’ve seen too much TV and running different shows together in my head, or if it’s a “previous case” that we haven’t actually seen.
We know that Voight is dealing with someone digging up the past. Just a few episodes ago, Voight got a note left on his windshield with a photo of a battered young boy. That boy was Voight, and we’re sure to get more of his own backstory. Could it be that this chilling figure is actually from Voight’s past, and it’s all going to connect? It would make sense for a fall finale.

Voight should always go with his gut
There’s a violent break-in, which leads to Voight getting some type of suspicion. That’s likely linked to the suspect, who he is sure will end up hurting someone. It looks like the evidence doesn’t match the gut feeling, but we all know that when Voight has a gut feeling about someone, there’s some sort of truth to the matter.
It looks like we won’t get much of Torres’s story from Chicago PD season 13 episode 6, which makes sense. After all, that arc is likely going to come up in 2026, and maybe it’ll be the winter premiere to mark a big episode. However, I could see it taking longer, as it’s part of Torres’s bigger storyline when it comes to his crisis of faith and insomnia.
