Alison turns to someone unlikely in Code of Silence season 1, episode 5, and it’s probably the right thing. She also learns that she’s not as far ahead of the gang as she thought.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Code of Silence season 1, episode 5.
When you’re getting connected to a guy who is a hacker, you need to question their ethics, especially when you know they’re not hacking for the good guys. Is it really that surprising that Liam has started to spy on Alison?
The clue that he was going to do this was in an earlier conversation when Alison said she feels naked without her hearing aids. Of course, Liam hacked into them, and it takes Eithan’s help to find out.

Alison goes to see her dad in Code of Silence season 1, episode 5
We know that Alison’s dad left her and her mom, but Alison decides to turn to him for some advice in the new episode. Well, she catches him dealing before they talk, which tells us why he left them.
Alison shares that there’s a guy who may be able to help her and Julie. However, it means moving away, and it’s dangerous. Alison could prevent the dangers if she goes to the cops, but she doesn’t know what to do. All her dad says is that she needs to do the right thing for her.
What is that right thing? Well, she decides to turn to Eithan for help. Is there any way that Liam has hacked her phone? Finally, she is thinking of Liam as a hacker, and Eithan shares that while there’s nothing in the phone, he notices that her hearing aids are connected to both the phone and another device.
Sure enough, Liam has hacked into her hearing aids, and he’s tracking everything Alison does. What she hasn’t realized is that he’s also tracking her live location.

The police attempt to close in on the gang
In an attempt to avoid anyone getting hurt, the police manage to get the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to agree on a conspiracy charge against Braden, Helen, and Liam. So, they head to Croesus International Vault, where an armed guard is there ready for them.
However, as they get to the vault, they realize it’s been emptied. Amir Joshi believes that the jewels should be in there, but it wasn’t hit yet. It’s his daughter who has sent a courier to pick them up. The cops look up the registration on the van that was spotted on CCTV, while Alison tries to get information to Ashleigh via a taxi driver’s phone.
The heist isn’t happening at the vault. Instead, it’s happening at the hotel she stayed at with Liam. Joshi’s daughter is there for a photoshoot, and she wanted the necklace to wear for it. While she waits for that, Braden and Liam are outside, Braden with a gun and Liam hacking into the security system.
The heist is pretty simple. Since the jewels are being delivered to the room that Liam and Alison stayed in before, Braden can get in and switch out the necklace for a duplicate. However, Liam is somewhat distracted when Alison turns up at the hotel.

We catch up with the first episode of Code of Silence
It’s not the finale that we have to wait for to find out why Alison is arrested. It all happens at the end of Code of Silence season 1, episode 5.
Since Joshi doesn’t want to leave her room without the necklace, things don’t quite go to plan for the gang. Braden has to dump all the real jewels down the laundry shoot, where he can collect on the other side. Meanwhile, Liam heads to the front desk to get to Alison.
Just as that happens, the police enter the hotel, with Ashleigh knowing that Alison has probably gone inside. Things take a turn because of all of this, with Braden shooting Joshi’s bodyguard, killing him, before running off. Liam wants to get Alison out, but she runs to Ben, one of the cops, who has now also been shot.
Now we catch up with the Code of Silence series premiere, with Alison being arrested. She’s covered in Ben’s blood, and it’s time for her to be questioned. Ashleigh and James want to know why she changed the location of the heist from the vault to the hotel.
Alison explains that Liam had hacked into her hearing aids and was feeding her false information. Liam used her to feed the police the wrong information.
There’s so much focus on Ben and Alison, that Braden and Liam were both able to get away, with Liam getting away with the jewels. The plan was always for Liam to get away on his own, and the Code of Silence season 1 finale will need to focus on finding him and Braden.
Code of Silence airs on Thursdays on BritBox.
