The first season of Revival has now come to an end, but it’s clear that there is more to this story to tell. Will Syfy allow the series to continue?

Caution: There are SPOILERS for the Revival season 1 finale in this post.

Revival immediately caught out attention thanks to the mixture of supernatural events and a murder mystery. It took to the end for the murder to be solved, and while it was a little confusing at first, it’s clear that we should always be wary of characters who just keep popping up!

However, things took a turn in the end, with Em disappearing and Dana believing her to be gone. Dana still needs some answers, though, and it’s clear that Aaron’s wife could be the one with them.

Revival season 2 needs to happen for all the answers we still need

The end of the first season wrapped up the murder mystery, but there’s so much more to explore. All we know is that Lester killed Em, and Aaron did originally have something to do with it. We also learned that both Aaron and Lester were involved in Rose’s murder, so that was two big questions answers.

Why? For immortality. However, Em was so special that she rose the dead. Now she’s disappeared, but only from Dana and the others. Aaron’s wife, who is somehow involved in all of this, has her, and we have so many questions that make Revival season 2 necessary.

After all, what’s going to happen with the Revivers now? Is the government really going to let the people of Wausa live in peace? Does Em remember anything? Is she fully reunited with her soul? Will other souls go out in search for their owners?

Will Syfy renew Revival for season 2?

It’s hard to say whether or not the second season will happen. This is going to depend on the linear ratings, which don’t need to be as high as for broadcast networks.

Syfy is pretty good about giving a story time to breathe, but only if the initial ratings are strong. There have been a few shows canceled way too early, and I am worried the same will happen to Revival. However, we’ve had the likes of Resident Alien, SurrealEstate, and The Ark get to continue, so I have hope that Revival will at least get a second season.

It’s something we’ll keep an eye on. We’re not expecting a decision for a couple of weeks, as Syfy may want to see how the finale performs on Peacock on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Revival is available to stream on Peacock.
