When it comes to love, it’s not always roses and love songs. There are a lot of dangers out there, and if you’re anti-romance, then you’ll want something that reminds you of that. We have five great crime shows to check out tonight for Valentine’s Day 2025.
It doesn’t matter if you’re watching because you’re happily single, or if you’re going through a breakup. Sometimes, you just need that reminder that people are trash or that dates can be dangerous. Some of these shows are one or two seasons and done, while others have a few seasons to check out throughout the weekend of love.
You
Let’s start with a show that has a new season coming out soon. Penn Badgley take son the role of Joe Goldberg in You on Netflix, and he quickly reminds us what to look out for when it comes to dangerous men. Joe becomes obsessed with women, and he turns to stalking and killing to get his way.
The first season sees his focus on Becks, and then he moves onto Love, Gabrielle, and Kate. The fifth and final season is on its way on Thursday, March 24, so now is a good time to catch up on the series.
Liar
Do you want something with fewer episodes? How about the British psychological thriller Liar? This series stars Joanne Froggatt as Laura, a woman who goes on an innocent date with Ioan Gruffuff’s Andrew. Andrew seems like the perfect gentleman, until he’s not.
Now Laura has to prove that he drugged and raped her. That’s not too easy to do, but what happens when you turn on a guy with charm and charisma? How far is Andrew willing to go to protect his sordid secrets?

Baby Reindeer
Based on true events, Baby Reindeer gives us a look at a female stalker and what she is willing to do to hurt her obsession. However, it’s more than that. There’s also a look at the entertainment world and what happens via people with power and authority.
Donny wants to be a comedian, but it’s not working out for him just yet. He works behind a bar and tries to keep his own dark and traumatic past a secret. However, when Martha comes to the pub and starts to become obsessed with him, his life completely changes.

Criminal Minds
How about something that has plenty of seasons to work your way through? Criminal Minds is great for Valentine’s Day for the anti-romance fans, as it offers a look at different types of serial killers and reasons people kill. This is a series that brings the dark and twisty psychology behind the killers.
The Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is tasked with getting into the minds of these killers, rapists, and kidnappers. They need to get to innocent victims before it’s too late, and they need to do it without putting their own lives on the line.
Eye Candy
One series that is relatively forgotten about but is worth the watch is Eye Candy. Victoria Justice stars in the series as a woman who matches with a stalker via an online dating profile. As Lindy Sampson figures out that she’s talking with a stalker, she uses her tech skills to uncover who he really is.
This is a great series that reminds us of online privacy. We put way too much of our lives online, and it isn’t hard for people to figure out what’s going on and how to find us.
