As we close in on the finales, there’s no doubt that you’ll want to check out the broadcast crime dramas tonight, Thursday, May 8. In fact, there is a finale airing tonight that you can’t miss.
Once again, we’re pretty settled with content on the broadcast networks only. There are plenty of other shows airing on cable and streaming, but for tonight, the focus is on the Big 5 broadcast networks as their top shows wrap up for their seasons. We have the shows to skip, but that’s just to wait until the following day to catch up on the streaming platforms.
4 crime dramas to watch and 2 to skip tonight, Thursday, May 8
Start the night with NBC, where Law & Order airs a new episode. In this episode, Maroun and Price will be worried about the lack of evidence that Riley, Shaw, and the others in the PD have collected. When there’s a murder of a high profile sports agent, it’s more important than ever to dot all the Is and cross all the Ts. The world is watching, and they’ll need to make sure they have everything before trial to avoid tanking the case.
After that, turn your attention to CBS, where the Elsbeth season 2 finale will air. Going into this episode, we know that Elsbeth season 3 will be down a series regular, and we’re not all that sure how to feel about that. It is what it is, though, and the returning guest stars are certainly going to make up for some of the changes. Elsbeth runs into numerous former murderers, and this could cause a personal problem for her. Oh, and it's a musical episode!
Then it’s back to NBC, where Found airs new episodes. This series is important TV, and it deserves to be watched live and tweeted about. Found season 2, episode 21 sees Gabi missing, taken by Lena at the end of the previous episode. Sir will do whatever he can from inside jail to get to Gabi. At least, everything we know about Sir tells us that. Meanwhile, the M&A Team will need to figure out where their formidable leader is.
When the entire night of primetime is over, it’s time to look back at other shows to check out that aired earlier in the night. One to watch is 911, which will see Hen and Athena discuss about the future of the 118. Athena thinks that Hen should take over as Captain, but is that something Hen really wants? Is there another option, though?
While we’re putting shows to skip, it’s only because there just isn’t enough time to watch everything throughout the night. We need to wait until streaming the following day, and Law & Order: SVU is the show to wait for. Another show to skip over is Crime Nation on The CW, but that’s because you can watch it on The CW App the following day. If you love Dateline and similar true crime storytelling, Crime Nation is for you.
