Friday nights are on the quieter side, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch! In fact, there are some great crime dramas to check out tonight, Friday, May 9.
It doesn’t matter if you want to find something on streaming, cable, or broadcast. All three have you covered, although we are focusing heavily on the Big 4 broadcast networks at the moment. There are some big episodes to come as we close in on the finales.
Not sure where to start? We have a list of shows to watch and skip. Just keep in mind that when we say skip, we mean record to watch the next day or wait for it to go to streaming.
3 crime dramas to watch and 1 to skip tonight, Friday, May 9
There is only one network to start with, and that’s NBC. Grosse Pointe Garden Society airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and it’s the penultimate episode of the season. It’s time to get a few more answers, as our three murderers see if they can get away with it all. As the tensions rise and people think they’ve figured out what’s going on, it looks like the cops could be on them.
After that, turn your attention to CBS. The new episode of SWAT will air, and it will see Hicks back in charge. After saving the life of Deputy Chief Bennett, she admitted her wrongs and made sure Hicks was back as Commander before she put in her own letter of resignation. Hondo’s family will come up when his cousin disappears from basic training. However, it sounds like his troublemaking cousin hasn’t just gone AWOL on purpose and something more sinister has happened.
I’d then encourage you to turn to AMC+ to catch up on all four current episodes of Black Snow season 2. This Australian crime drama takes place across two time periods, with one telling us the real events of 2003 and the other focusing on trying to figure out what happened all those years ago. Did Zoe run away, or was she murdered? We start to get answers around the third episode, so make it your binge-watch tonight.
When it comes to shows to skip, we’ll pick Dateline tonight. This is a wonderful series, and I fully recommend watching episodes. However, everything airs on Peacock the following day, and you can watch the cases that interest you the most and then go into other ones. Episodes take up two hours on a Friday night, and SWAT is on the more important side right now purely as it comes to an end.
