Sheriff Country got off to a great start, and you will definitely not want to miss the next episode. However, with that in mind, you need to make sure to keep track of the schedule.
When Sheriff Country first premiered, it took the place of its parent show, Fire Country. However, CBS had already made it clear that the firefighter drama was going to keep its regular timeslot that it has had since its conception. The switch of timeslots was a strategic one to get people tuned in and sticking around for the new series.

Sheriff Country is moving to the earlier timeslot
When CBS initially announced the fall 2025 schedule, Sheriff Country was set for the 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot on Fridays. Personally, I questioned whether it was right to put a new show on in this earlier timeslot, but if any show could do it, it would be Sheriff Country. It’s not like it didn’t already have an interested fanbase thanks to Morena Baccarin’s introduction as Mickey Fox in Fire Country.
However, CBS decided to put the premieres on the opposite way around. This made sense to get the shows started, especially since Sheriff Country’s premiere mentioned Vince’s death. Fans of Fire Country would need to see that episode first to understand the devastation that happened in the season 4 premiere.

This is now the set order of things
As we mentioned when we shared how to watch the shows, Sheriff Country will now air in the 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. This is the set scheduled for the foreseeable future.
The only reason CBS would have to change the time is if the show failed to perform, and quite honestly, we can’t see that being the case. Not only did the series have the interested following, but the first episode proved to be a well-written episode with characters that are easy to root for and look forward to seeing.
It’s just something to keep in mind if you are only tuning in for this series. However, I reckon a lot of people out there are going to be following both Sheriff and Fire, because there are going to be crossover moments and mentions of events from both shows. Think of it like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
Sheriff Country will air on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS.
