Sheriff Country secures a strong Friday night timeslot for fall 2025

The CBS fall 2025 schedule is set, and we know where Sheriff Country will air.
“Alert the Sheriff” – After a fire camp inmate escapes from Three Rock, the deputy sheriff with a surprising connection to the Leones, Mickey (Morena Baccarin), is called to investigate, on FIRE COUNTRY, Friday, April 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Directed by series star, creator and executive

When Sheriff Country was confirmed for the fall, we said that it would be a great idea to put the show on Friday nights with Fire Country. Well, the schedule is here, and it looks like CBS somewhat took our advice.

Yes, the Fire Country spinoff will air in the fall on CBS. This makes sense considering the series was originally picked up back in the 2023–2024 TV season. Due to CBS holding Matlock for the 2024–2025 season, there was a bit of a packed schedule, and so this series was held for the upcoming 2025–2026 TV season. There has been plenty of time to develop a strong first season, and it deserves a strong, fall timeslot.

Sheriff Country will air on Fridays, but not in the middle timeslot

We said that it would make sense to pull Fire Country forward an hour and then air Sheriff Country after it. After all, Fire already has the following, and people are likely to remain tuned-in for the spinoff.

However, it looks like CBS has a lot of faith in the new series. Instead of airing in the middle timeslot, it will start Friday nights in style. Sheriff Country will ait at 8 p.m. ET/PT and then it will be followed by Fire Country, which keeps its timeslot that its had from the beginning. Boston Blue will take the last timeslot, which we also suggested would be a good idea since it was the Blue Bloods timeslot.

This is still going to be a night full of one thing, although not a franchise. Everything is produced by Jery Bruckheimer, so it’s a Bruckheimer Night. These types of nights have become popular among many networks.

What to expect in Sheriff Country

The new spinoff will follow Morena Baccarin’s Mickey Fox, who was introduced as a deputy in Fire Country. She has been since promoted to sheriff, and she’ll investigate crimes in her small town of Edgewater. This opens the door for Fire Country crossovers as the two shows are set in the same small town.

We will get to see more of Mickey’s personal life, as well. During a recent episode of Fire Country, we were introduced to her dad, who is an ex-convict and a bit of a problem for Mickey. However, she’ll learn to handle him, while also figuring out how to deal with her daughter, who is a recovering drug addict. Mickey’s ex-husband will also play a part in the story, showing us a very different relationship dynamic compared to Bode’s parents.

Sheriff Country will air on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS in the fall.
