With FBI: Most Wanted coming to an end, our eyes are on any cast exits to bring closure to storylines. Well, it looks like one is on its way via Sheryll Barnes. One of just two OG cast members left is looking to move to DC, but she’s not quite ready for it yet.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for FBI: Most Wanted season 6, episode 19.
In the previous episodes, Barnes learned that there is a Supervisory Agent position in DC and she’s interviewed for it. During FBI: Most Wanted season 6, episode 19, she told Hana that it looks like she has the position, but there isn’t confirmation yet. However, she’s not sure if she will take it.
Hana seems pretty certain that Barnes will end up moving to DC, but we have to acknowledge the reasons Barnes is on the fence. Sure, she wants to do the right thing for her kids, but that doesn’t mean she won’t have second thoughts.
Everyone else Barnes loves is in New York in FBI: Most Wanted
One thing that is making Barnes rethink the decision is her parents. They are in New York, and by moving to DC, she is then moving away from them. This is one of the most relatable things about the entire conversation. After all, Barnes’s parents are getting older, and they may need her support in a few years.
It’s something that plays on my mind a lot. My parents are in another country, so not just a four-hour or so car ride, and the decision to move away from them was a nerve-wracking one. We moved without jobs to walk into, although mine was one I could take with me, so it wasn’t even on the same level of protection as Barnes’s move will be.
At the end of the day, Barnes is a mother and she will make sacrifices for her children. While she didn’t initially move to DC, that was because there wasn’t a career option there. Now that there is, we’re sure to see a move at the end of FBI: Most Wanted. However, that doesn’t mean she’d go without fear, and seeing this side of her is the most human and relatable in the series.
FBI: Most Wanted airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS.
