FBI: Most Wanted isn't new for the rest of 2024, but it will be back soon

As much as we're ready for more cases for the Fugitive Task Force to work, there's some bad news. The show has entered its winter break.

“Pageantry” – When an international beauty queen is killed on live television, the Fugitive Task Force heads to Philadelphia to hunt down the killer. Meanwhile, Hana senses that Ethan is hiding something, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Dec. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). We love seeing the Fugitive Task Force in action, but there’s some bad news right now. There are no more new episodes of FBI: Most Wanted in 2024.

This is just for 2024. The show will return in 2025, but there is a lengthy break coming up. It’s normal for this time of year, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Why is FBI: Most Wanted on a break?

Like the other two FBI shows, CBS has aired the winter finale for FBI: Most Wanted season 6. This break is for two big reasons.

The first is that the linear ratings take a dive this time of year. People spend time with family watching movies, or they go out to local holiday events. The last thing a lot of people want to do is stay in and watch TV shows. The broadcast networks know this, so they put the shows on a break.

This break also allows for the shows to make sure there are plenty of episodes in the can come January. The cast and crew take this time of year off so they can spend the holidays with friends and family. If the networks continued to air episodes, they would run out of them in January, and it would mean this break is needed then instead. It makes more sense to time the break with when the linear ratings take a hit anyway.

Varsity Blues
“Varsity Blues” – The Fugitive Task Force is called in to hunt down a missing teen from New Jersey who has a connection to a classmate’s recent suicide. Meanwhile, Cora feels Ray and his father are putting too much pressure on Caleb, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Oct. 22 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).

When will FBI: Most Wanted return with new episodes?

The CBS break is later compared to the likes of NBC and ABC, which means that the return dates are later. There’s still the same amount of time off. Well, there’s less time off than some of the ABC shows. The TGIT lineup won’t return until March 2025!

FBI: Most Wanted season 6 will return on Tuesday, Jan. 28. It will continue to air at 10/9c, straight after new episodes of FBI and FBI: International. There’s nothing wrong with this lineup right now!

FBI: Most Wanted is available to stream on Paramount+ if you need to catch up on episodes, or if you want to rewatch your favorites.
