Meet Syd Ortiz in FBI season 7, episode 4 (Preview)

Shortly before learning that Katherine Renee Kane would leave FBI during season 7, we learned Lisette Olivera would join the series. We get to meet Syd Ortiz in FBI season 7, episode 4.

There is some bad news that comes with this introduction. While Olivera was set to be the new series regular and was supposed to be around for the rest of the season, that’s not now going to happen. It turns out that she plays too young for the role, and the show has opted to go in another direction.

However, that doesn’t mean we’re not excited to meet the character. The introduction is personal for Syd.

Syd’s sister is one of the victims in FBI season 7, episode 4

The New York Field Office will need to deal with a kidnapper and rapist. This may be a serial killer as well, but for now, we just know about kidnapping and rape. Syd comes to Isobel for help when her sister is a victim of the suspect.

Syd is from the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Yes, Criminal Minds fans will get an idea of what to expect. The BAU is in charge of dissecting the mental state of the UnSubs to get inside their heads and to predict their next moves to find victims.

Well, there is a problem with this current suspect. He leaves no trace of his crimes behind, making it almost impossible to catch him. Maggie isn’t going to let this one slide, and she will do everything she can to catch the serial offender.
