FBI season 7 is already seeing a cast change (and we haven't even met the character!)

Lisette Olivera was set to join FBI season 7 as the new series regular. Well, there's already a cast change before she's even come into the series.

Don’t expect to see Lisette Olivera in FBI season 7 for too long. Despite being brought in as the new series regular, she’s already leaving the show.

During the FBI season 7 premiere, the series wrote out Tiffany Wallace. Katherine Renee Kane’s character decided that after everything that went down in the sixth season finale, she needed to completely move on. That meant leaving her field job and heading to Georgia to be nearer her sister.

That’s meant a revolving door of new partners for Scola, but we had a feeling that it would come to an end soon. After all, Lisette Olivera was announced as the new series regular just before Kane’s exit was announced.

When will Lisette Olivera be introduced in FBI season 7

TV Insider shares that Olivera’s debut as Syd Ortiz in the Tuesday, Nov. 12 episode. She was set to be around for the foreseeable future, but that’s not the case anymore.

It turns out that this may have been a bad casting call. While the creative team wanted someone younger and fresher, it doesn’t suit the way of the real FBI world. Deadline reports that Olivera plays “too young” for the gravitas that an FBI agent is supposed to have.

Olivera will be in a “handful of episodes.” This will mark her as a slightly longer appearing new partner for Scola, but he will continue to be on the hunt for a permanent replacement.

This could certainly help to shake things up a little in the series. The show does become very formulaic with partners working together all the time. While that is the real world, it doesn’t make for the most exciting TV. We still miss Kane, though. There was no reason to lose Tiffany—and it looks like it wasn’t the best creative choice after all.
