Usually, the team goes after one killer, but that’s not the case in FBI season 7, episode 5. How many murderers are there?
The new episode is the first with Syd Ortiz working with the team properly in the field. This is despite the fact that she couldn’t follow Isobel’s orders in her debut episode. However, Isobel likely saw that as due to it being a personal case.
Ortiz was focused on finding the man who sexually assaulted her sister. She was out for justice for her sister, and in turn, for many other women. Her head wasn’t in the game properly, and she isn’t trained for in the field fully. That can change.
It’s going to be short-lived, though. We know that Lisette Olivera won’t be sticking around for long. She was supposed to be a series regular, but I can see why the casting realized there was a mistake. She did play a little too young in her debut.
An honor student killed in FBI season 7, episode 5
In the new episode, she’ll need to work with the team to get to the bottom of an honor student being murdered. It’s a brutal murder as well, which suggests that this is of a personal matter.
However, something that stands out is the plea of “help us find these killers.” It means there is more than one. Could it be a case of a fraternity acting out in revenge? Is it linked to some boys being told no and lashing out? After all, that is a huge motivation for personal and brutal murders. The fact that the title is "Pledges," I do get a fraternity feel to the story.
It’s hard to say because all we have right now is the promo. Take a look at what to expect in FBI season 7, episode 5:
