Ever since the cancellation of FBI: Most Wanted, one character has had fans hoping they would return to FBI. Now it has been revealed Shantel VanSanten will return as FBI Agent Nina Chase, and it is for a happy occasion!

It was revealed that when FBI returns from midseason hiatus in February, wedding bells will be ringing for Chase and her boyfriend, Agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd). Preview images show them embracing while dressed in wedding attire.

Best Laid Plans
“Best Laid Plans” – When a retired FBI agent is tortured and killed while working a security job, Scola and Nina (FBI: MOST WANTED) go undercover as a married couple deep in the diamond game as the team tries to find out who is responsible. During the course of his and Nina’s dangerous assignment, Scola is plagued by the possibility that their son Doug could end up parentless, on FBI, Tuesday, April 16 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and

Nina Chase will return to FBI in a very special episode

TV Insider had spoken with Boyd, who teased “Maybe some wedding bells” when previously asked about whether something was possibly coming up for the characters for the remainder of the season.

While FBI: Most Wanted was airing, Nina had originally nixed the idea of a wedding. But something must happen in the new FBI episode for her to change her mind. We may not know what occurs exactly, but we do have an idea of what to expect from the synopsis.

In the episode, titled “Confetti,” Nina is leading the charge in an undercover operation when things do not go as planned. The team works with Nina in order to convince a witness to “hunt down a rip crew at a cartel wedding.” This involvement with the case seems to lead the couple to realize a wedding is on the table.

Boyd said that a wedding would be “interesting to see why the character, how a wedding or a marriage would change his life, change the relationship, and his relationship to the work.”

One photo released from TV Insider shows Nina appearing to be undercover, while another shows OA (Zeeko Zaki) working with Scola as Nina and Maggie (Missy Peregrym) work together at a wedding.

There are also images of Scola’s and Nina’s wedding, with some members of the team there to support the couple. Maggie is seen holding a little boy, presumably their son, Dougy. He hasn’t been seen on the show since his birth on FBI season 5, so he will be around two years old when they tie the knot!

While we do not know if this means Nina will be in more episodes of FBI moving forward, we’re excited to see if they update us on what she is up to now. Is she still with her previous team from Most Wanted, and if so, will we learn their whereabouts, even if it’s brief mentions?

There is a lot to look forward to now that we know a wedding is imminent.

FBI season 8 returns on Monday, Feb. 23 at 9/8c on CBS and streams the following day on Paramount+.
